Reference 7686 belongs to Longines’ Flagship line and is recognisable by its squared steel case, known as “carré”. This example, datable to between the 1970s and the 1980s, shows only hours and minutes and entrusts its character to the design of the case and dial.
The model
The dial is green, with applied indices and baton hands; variants of the same reference exist with blue, silver or gilt dials. The case measures 30 x 33 mm and is described as slim. A manual-winding movement is generally indicated for this series, such as the 17-jewel Longines calibre 428. The crystal is acrylic, the strap reptile-pattern leather.
