Reference 01.1551.380 identifies a 1970s Zenith from the Surf line, a family of watches between sporty and elegant that the house offered in that decade. The name also appears engraved on the steel caseback of the models in the series.
The model
The case is stainless steel, with a diameter of 34 mm, and is fitted with a steel bracelet. The dial shows hours, minutes, seconds and date, protected by an acrylic (plexiglass) crystal. As for the movement, listings of comparable examples cite a Zenith automatic, probably calibre 2572 PC, widely used in the house’s production in the 1970s; this has not, however, been confirmed for this example.
For the collector
An understated watch of restrained proportions, representative of the family of models between sporty and elegant that Zenith produced in the 1970s.
