The Longines Admiral is one of the classic models of the Swiss manufacture. This example, from the 1970s-1980s, is recognisable by the five stars on the dial, the symbol with which Longines marked the quality and precision of this line.
The model
The stainless steel case measures 35 mm. The silvered dial has applied indices and baton hands and shows hours, minutes and seconds, with the day of the week and the date in a window at 3 o’clock. The crystal is acrylic (plexiglass) and the strap is Goretex.
The movement
The Admiral is an automatic watch, wound by the movement of the wrist. Many examples of this period are fitted with reliable calibres such as the Longines 503. The model is valued by collectors for its timeless design and mechanical robustness.
