A 1970s Mondia Automatic, with a stainless steel case and integrated bracelet. In the years when it was produced, Mondia was part of the Movado-Zenith-Mondia (MZM) group: for this reason its models often share aesthetics and components with contemporary Zenith watches, and this example closely resembles the Zenith Pilot Surf.
The model
The 37 mm stainless steel case has the typical cushion, or «TV», shape of the 1970s; the integrated steel bracelet continues its lines, completing an ensemble between sporty and elegant. The silvered dial carries baton indices, central seconds and the date window between 4 and 5 o’clock. The crystal is acrylic (plexiglass); the watch is Swiss Made.
The movement
The movement is automatic. Mondia watches of this period are often fitted with the Zenith calibre 2572 PC, a Swiss movement valued for its reliability.
