The Venus Routemaster is a Swiss watch from 1960 in 18k gold. Venus, a house active in Switzerland around the middle of the twentieth century, is known above all as a maker of mechanical movements, particularly for chronographs.
The model
The 18k gold case measures 34 mm; the dial shows hours, minutes, seconds and date, beneath an acrylic crystal. The strap is crocodile. The Routemaster name is little documented and does not correspond to a known collection such as those of the major brands.
The movement
The movement is the automatic ETA calibre 2452, appreciated for its robustness, its relatively simple construction and its good longevity. Watches fitted with it are also sought after for the reliability they still retain today.
